Founded by City professionals Susan McDonald and John Glencross in 1999, Calculus Capital has grown steadily to become an acknowledged leader in unquoted company investment. As EIS innovators, and later with the launch of its VCTs, Calculus Capital has helped private equity gain recognition as a mainstream asset class for experienced and professional investors.
EIS Innovators
Calculus set the standard for the emerging EIS industry, launching the first Approved EIS fund in 2000 followed by a further nine funds since then. Investors were able to benefit from professional investment management and diversifying their exposure across a range of EIS-qualifying companies, as opposed to making an investment in a single company.
Specialist VCT
The same skills and expertise contributed to a successful entry into the VCT market in 2005, working in partnership with Neptune Investment Management, a leading UK equity income fund manager.
In 2010 Calculus Capital partnered with Investec Structured Products to launch the Investec Structured Products Calculus VCT plc.
